We thought we'd kick off our very first post by answering the most common question: Who are we, and why did we decide to open a new CPA firm on Cape Cod?

The short answer is, we believe Cape Cod deserves another option. One that combines big-city expertise with the personalized service and relationships of a local family-owned firm.

Why Cape Cod Needed a Different Kind of Accounting Firm

Living on the Cape, we’ve heard from other locals that their accountant is difficult to reach, runs off paper and fax, and in many cases is only seen in March to file taxes before disappearing again.

Rice Financial Solutions was founded in direct response to that gap. We’re a modern firm, but technology is only half of it. What really sets us apart is our belief that accounting isn’t just about running the numbers; we look for ways to be a strong strategic partner and plan for growth beyond this year’s filing.

Meet Josh Rice, CPA

Our founder, Josh Rice, is a licensed CPA with a master’s degree in accounting and more than 15 years of experience in some of the most competitive financial markets in the country: Boston, New York City, and Miami. His background spans tax strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance, the kind of experience usually reserved for large regional firms and large corporate clients.

Josh’s connection to the Cape is personal. Introduced to the area by his wife, a Cape Cod native, he knew almost immediately this was where he wanted to put down roots. He and his family relocated from Boston, and today he and his wife are raising their two daughters here. When Josh isn’t working at the firm, you’ll find him on local beaches, playing with the kids, and practicing his swing at the driving range.
